In comparison with common AC servo motors Bautz W Series Servo Motors are distinguished by their low inertia, which is achieved by a long and slim rotor construction. The use of high-energetic NeFeB magnets allows extreme acceleration and deceleration operations. The Bautz W series motors have the same mechanical design as standard Bautz motors with convectional cooling of the M series but are additionally equipped with a water cooling device.
Compared with standard motors Bautz W series servo-motors increase torque by 100% and the rated torque at higher speeds is also increased by about 150-200% depending on the motor type. The difference is explained by the additional losses of motors without water-cooling during high speed operation which cause a torque reduction at increasing speed whereas the torque reduction of the Bautz W series motors is much smaller or does not occur at all.
As a result the water-cooled Bautz W series servomotors are recommended especially for applications where high rated torques combined with a very compact motor design are required.
