In 1999, Danfoss acquired Bauer Antriebstechnik GmbH in Germany. It was Danfoss largest acquisition to date. In 2002 Danfoss reorganized Bauer`s geared motor factories at Esslingen and Munich in Germany. The resulting redundancy led to the creation of Danfoss Motion Controls – at the former Bauer factory in Winsford, Cheshire in the UK – bringing together its variable speed drives and the geared motor technology.
